In an electrifying atmosphere filled with excitement and national pride, the 10th Arab Handball Championship kicked off in style at the Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Complex, with a grand opening hosted by the Kuwait Handball Federation.

Back after a 23-year hiatus, the prestigious championship returns from none other than the land of peace and hospitality — Kuwait.

Running until May 11th, the tournament features 9 elite Arab national teams, divided into three groups:

  • Group A: Bahrain, Iraq, Egypt

  • Group B: Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Tunisia

  • Group C: Kuwait, Morocco, UAE

The top team from each group will qualify for the semifinals, joined by the best second-placed team across all groups.

The opening ceremony dazzled fans, especially with a stirring performance by Kuwaiti singer Hamood AlKhudher, who sang the tournament’s official anthem — a heartfelt welcome to all Arab brothers and guests in their second home, Kuwait.

The first day of competition brought thrilling matches:

  • Bahrain edged Iraq 28–26

  • Qatar triumphed over Saudi Arabia 31–22

  • The night concluded with Kuwait facing Morocco in a much-anticipated Group C opener.

The Arab Championship is back — and it's bigger than ever!
Stay tuned for more action, passion, and Arab pride from the heart of Kuwait!
