The draw for the upcoming Men's U-World Cup, set to take place in Egypt, placed Kuwait’s national team in Group A alongside top European sides: Sweden, Portugal, and Austria.
This follows Kuwait’s recent participation in a preparatory international tournament hosted in Tunisia, where the team faced strong competition from Tunisia, Italy, Greece, and Montenegro.
Commenting on the draw, Team Treasurer and Head of Delegation Mr. Khaled Taleb emphasized the high technical caliber of the group’s teams, noting the challenge and the opportunity it presents.
He added, “Proper preparation for major championships will enable us to build strong national teams capable of representing Kuwaiti handball with pride and professionalism.”
Taleb also praised the efforts of the Kuwait Handball Association and the Public Authority for Sport in laying the foundation for successful national teams and ensuring a productive training environment. “Lifting the name and flag of Kuwait on the international stage is our ultimate goal,” he concluded.
